The Incommers: Aye Write Book Festival

The Incomers, a debut novel by Moira McPartlin will be published in April 2012 by Fledgling Press.
The novel tells the story of Ellie, a young Black African who comes to live in a Scottish mining village in 1966. It draws deep parallels between the cultures of West Africa and Scotland. As well as dealing with racial prejudice, the novel also touches on colonial oppression, bigotry, bullying, class and depression.
Moira will be presenting her novel at the Aye Write Glasgow Book Festival , Mitchell Library on the 11th of March between 17.30 – 18.30pm. This is a free event so please come along and support Moira.
